Traineeships are designed to support young people who want to develop the skills for an apprenticeship or sustainable employment but may not currently have the appropriate skills or experience. A traineeship prepares young people for their future careers and helps them prepare and feel comfortable for work. It provides necessary work preparation training, such as Maths, English, IT and work experience needed to help get an Apprenticeship or a job.
The target group for Traineeships are young people aged between 16-24 who are not currently in a job and hold little work experience but who are focused on getting work or the prospect of it. Traineeships are made for young people who employers and providers believe have a reasonable chance of being ready for employment or an Apprenticeship within six months of engaging in a Traineeship programme.
Traineeships offer you, as the employer, the opportunity to shape the training and experience with the help of RM Training, creating high quality applicants for sectors to draw on. It gives the applicants the confidence, skills and experience they need and are looking for - there for giving chances to younger people in the community and building up worth ethic.
If a young person taking part in a work experience placement within your company shows the potential to become a productive member of staff during the Traineeship, then we would encourage employers to support them to apply for an apprenticeship or other suitable vacancy that may be available.
